A contemporary scholar and Sufi trained in the Ottoman madrasa tradition, born in the Külüyan (Kalaş) village of Çermik, Diyarbakır. He served for many years as imam and teacher in Gaziantep and authored numerous works. He died on 28 June 2013 in Ankara and, per his will, was buried in the courtyard (hazire) of the Nuri Mehmet Paşa Mosque in Gaziantep, the city where he had served.
