KH Muhammad Arwani Amin (1905-1994), born in Kudus, studied the seven qira'at under KH Munawwir at Krapyak and in 1970 founded the Yanbu'ul Qur'an pesantren in Kudus. He was a central figure in teaching the seven qira'at and left the work 'Faydh al-Barakat fi al-Sab' al-Qira'at'. His grave, within the Yanbu'ul Qur'an pesantren complex, is visited by pilgrims.
