Born in 1905 in the village of Bojong Meron, Cianjur, KH Abdullah bin Nuh earned the title 'the Ghazali of Cianjur' for his depth in Arabic literature, jurisprudence, legal theory and Sufism. He founded the Al-Ghazaly school, taught the Ihya Ulumuddin for years, and left many written works. He died in Bogor on 26 October 1987; his tomb is a site visited by students and admirers.
