Born in 1867 in the Şekerli quarter of Maraş, regarded as a sayyid descended from Husayn. A Qadiri-Rifai guide and a spiritual leader of the Maraş War of Independence, he later served as chief preacher of the Grand Mosque. He died on 11 June 1937 and was buried in the Şeyhadil cemetery.
