Shaikh Abdurrahman Siddiq al-Banjari (1857–1939), known as "Tuan Guru Sapat," was a scholar of jurisprudence and Sufism descended from the celebrated Syekh Muhammad Arsyad al-Banjari. He served as Mufti of the Indragiri Sultanate and authored Asrar as-Salat (fiqh of worship), Risalah 'Amal Ma'rifah (Sufism, 1914) and treatises on Islamic creed. A pioneering teacher who organized Islamic education across Indragiri Hilir, he drew students from Malaysia, Singapore and Kalimantan. His tomb at Sapat (Teluk Dalam village) is a major pilgrimage site visited daily by pilgrims from the archipelago and neighboring countries.
