Son of Sayyid Fehim Arwasi, born in Arvas in 1880. He received his ijaza in 1899, taught at the Hatuniyye Madrasa in Adilcevaz, and was appointed mufti of Adilcevaz in 1910. He served with militia forces in World War I and was a founder of the Van Defense of Rights Society.
