Physician and scholar of theology and exegesis who lived in Birgi under the Aydınid beylik, having studied in Cairo under Ekmeleddin al-Babarti. Renowned as 'Anatolia's Ibn Sina'; chief works the medical 'Shifa al-asqam' and the ten-volume tafsir 'Majma al-anwar.' He died c. 827/1424, buried at Hıdırlık west of Birgi.
