A Bengali Islamic scholar, Sufi reformer and educationist; the principal eastern-Bengal disciple of Abu Bakr Siddique of Furfura Sharif. In 1915 he founded the Sarsina Darbar Sharif and the Darussunnat Kamil Madrasa, a leading alia madrasa. The Swarupkati upazila was renamed 'Nesarabad' in his honour in 1985; several pirs are buried at the darbar but he is the principal figure.
