A Lebanese-American Sunni scholar and shaykh of the Naqshbandi-Haqqani Sufi order. On the instruction of Shaykh Nazim al-Haqqani, he settled in the United States in 1990 and established the Naqshbandiyya-Nazimiyya order of America, opening dozens of centers across the US and Canada. He died on 4 December 2024 in Fenton, Michigan, and was buried in Rawda Cemetery in Fenton, near the site of the Naqshbandi dergah. His grave has become a maqam visited by members of the order (ziyara).
