A scholar-dervish among the pupils of the Halveti sheikh Alamadan Dede, who helped root the Halveti order in Tire. His tomb is in the Paşa quarter, thought to have been built by Sheikh Mehmed Çelebi; the exact date is unknown. (Sources: TDV 'Tire'; Evliyalar.net)
A judge-scholar, founder of the Tire complex bearing his name (mosque, madrasa, library, inn, bath), the only one in Tire preserving its original plan. A noted calligrapher. A Naqshbandi-Khalidi sheikh, Sufi and divan poet (1915-1990), the twelfth-generation descendant of Somuncu Baba (Şeyh Hamid-i Veli). He served over forty years as imam-hatib at the Şeyh Hamid-i Veli (Somuncu Baba) Mosque in Darende and founded a Qur'an school, library and foundation. Known for his Divan-ı Hulusi-i Darendevi. Also called 'Yanyatır'; a figure from Baghdad regarded as the pir of the Yanyatır lodge of the Tahtacı Alevis. Based on two manuscripts in the Adana Museum, the tomb dates to c. 1129-1132/1717-1720. Physician and scholar of theology and exegesis who lived in Birgi under the Aydınid beylik, having studied in Cairo under Ekmeleddin al-Babarti. Renowned as 'Anatolia's Ibn Sina'; chief works the medical 'Shifa al-asqam' and the ten-volume tafsir 'Majma al-anwar.' He died c. 827/1424, buried at Hıdırlık west of Birgi. A master of the Rifai order who founded the Şıh Zülfü Mosque (formerly the Yortan Veli lodge) in central Adana. The lodge was restored in 1269/1853, with an endowment deed in Adana's court records. Identified with Sayyid Sultan Ala al-Din, a leading Halveti-Melami sheikh of Tire. Said to have been exiled from Egypt then Istanbul under Mehmed II to Tire, where he died; through pupils such as Molla Çelebi and Alaeddin Arabi he kept the Halveti order influential in Tire. A spiritual figure who lived in Darende in the 13th century, died there in 650/1252. The neighborhood he settled became Zaviye Mahallesi in Ottoman times after the lodge he founded. One of the great spiritual poles of the Bayramî-Melâmî path, succeeding Ömer Dede Sikkînî and Bünyâmin Ayâşî to the rank of qutbiyya; popularly known as 'Sultan Pir Ali.' Per his tomb inscription his real name was Bahâeddin Ali. He died on 26 Şaban 945/16 January 1539 in Kayseri and was buried, per his will, in the Taşpazar quarter of Aksaray. Within the Zeynel Abidin Mosque Complex in Nusaybin lie two tombs, one of Molla Zaynal Abidin and the other of his sister Sitti Zaynab; both held to be Ahl al-Bayt descendants from Husayn b. Ali. The gate inscription dates the structure to AH 553/1159 (Zengid); on UNESCO's Tentative List. He is noted as distinct from Imam Ali Zayn al-Abidin al-Sajjad. Sheikh Halil Becirmani (1916, Gerçüş – 8 February 2002), a sheikh of the Naqshbandi-Khalidi order via the Halid al-Jazari/Seyda branch, received ijaza from Sheikh Muhammed Said Seyda al-Jazari in 1953. Sheikh Sayyid Abdurrazzaq al-Helela (1895, Mazıdağı – 1980, Kızıltepe), a sheikh of the Haznevi branch of the Naqshbandi-Khalidi order and a deputy of Sheikh Ahmad al-Haznawi. He resided in Kızıltepe until his death and founded the Helela lineage; his tomb is in Kızıltepe. (Sources: evliyalar.net)
An ahî elder and saint of Germiyanid Kütahya, popularly called 'Paşam Sultan'. His lodge and tomb stand near the Kurşunlu Mosque. A 1421 (824 AH) inscription records the plague death of his descendant Hacı İbrahim Cemal; the tomb holds four wooden cenotaphs and was restored in 2001. Dates not securely established. A 19th-century Halvetî-Şâbânî sheikh of Kütahya. Born 1805, trained in Kastamonu in the path of Şâbân-ı Velî, then sent to Kütahya where he founded the Mesudiye (Bekir Efendi) Lodge and mosque.
