Son-in-law and chief successor of Baha al-Din Naqshband; after his master's death he received the allegiance of the disciples, including Muhammad Parsa, becoming the next link of the Naqshbandi chain. Settling in the Chaghaniyan region in the 1390s, he spread the order beyond Bukhara and appointed ten successors before his death.
