Ismail ibn Ibrahim al-Jabarti (722/1322 – 806/1403) was a leading Sufi of the Rasulid period in Zabid, Yemen, and a champion of the school of Ibn Arabi (wahdat al-wujud). Linked to the Qadiriyya chain, he is regarded as founder of the Jabartiyya order named after him; because he recommended Ibn Arabi's Fusus al-Hikam to his disciples and was known for a daily Ya-Sin litany, his followers were called "the people of Ya-Sin." His most famous student was Abd al-Karim al-Jili, author of al-Insan al-Kamil. He was buried in the Bab Siham Cemetery of Zabid, and a shrine was built over his grave.
