A leading Ansari and poet-Companion who took part in the Aqaba pledges. At Mu'tah (8 AH) he assumed command and the standard after Ja'far's martyrdom and was himself martyred. His tomb is reported to lie near the Ja'far al-Tayyar complex; as no tomb-specific coordinate is corroborated by two sources, the location is left null.
