The eponymous founder (pir) of the 'Kufrawi' branch of the Naqshbandi-Khalidi order, a disciple of Sheikh Taha al-Hakkari. He established a lodge in Bitlis with influence reaching the Caucasus, Tbilisi and Iran, and taught Bediüzzaman Said Nursi.
