Leader of the Baghdad school of Sufism, known as 'Sayyid al-ta'ifa'. He died in Baghdad in 297/909 and was buried in the Shuniziyya cemetery (today the Sheikh Ma'ruf Cemetery, Karkh). A distinct, maintained tomb exists. (Sources: TDV 'Cüneyd-i Bağdâdî'; Wikidata Q735601.)
