The seventh of the Twelve Imams, son of Ja'far al-Sadiq. He died in Baghdad in Rajab 183/799; his tomb is in the Kadhimiya Shrine in Kazimiyya, buried with his grandson Muhammad al-Jawad. (Sources: TDV 'Mûsù el-Kùzım'; Wikidata Q154116.)
