A sayyid descended from Husayn b. Ali who migrated from Basra to Hadramawt, becoming the ancestor of the Ba 'Alawi sada; his epithet al-Muhajir ('the Emigrant') derives from this migration. The Sunni-Sufi sayyid tradition of Hadramawt traces its root to him. His death is usually given as 345/956 (with a variant of 307/924); he is buried at al-Husaisa (Shiʿb al-Muhajir) between Tarim and Sayʾun. (Sources: Wikipedia; Muwasala.org)
