A Qadiri Sufi mystic and preacher who studied at Gwalior under Muhammad Ghaus, performed Hajj, and settled at Nagore via the Maldives and Sri Lanka. He is locally venerated as 'Nagore Andavar' (Ruler of Nagore) and credited in tradition with curing the Thanjavur ruler Achuthappa Nayak. His dargah is a noted site of Hindu-Muslim shared devotion; the 14-day Kanduri (urs) marks his death anniversary. The most-cited death year is 1570.
