Abd al-Salam al-Asmar al-Fituri (b. 1475, Zliten), a major North African Sufi regarded as the 'second master' of the Arusiyya order. He trained under Abd al-Wahid al-Dukali and founded a zawiya in his town. He died in 981/1574; the mosque-zawiya around his grave is one of Libya's most important pilgrimage sites, beside al-Asmariya University. The zawiya-tomb was damaged by Salafi groups in 2012 and rebuilt/reopened from 2019. (Sources: TDV; Wikipedia.)
