Rahman Baba (Abdur Rahman Mohmand, c. 1632-1706) was a Pashtun Sufi dervish and one of the greatest mystical poets of the Pashto language, active in Peshawar during the Mughal era. His Diwan of 343 poems, celebrated among Pashtuns as second only to the Qur'an, expresses divine love and humility in a plain, ascetic voice. His shrine in the Hazar Khwani area on the southern edge of Peshawar is a major site of pilgrimage for poets and mystics.
