Ebû Muhammed el-Medenî Dağıstanî was a Naqshbandi Sufi born in Dagestan in 1830 who emigrated around 1896, first to Bursa then to Reşâdiye (Güneyköy), Yalova. He founded the village and was the master of his nephew and successor Şerâfeddin Dağıstanî. He died in 1913; his grave lies within the same shrine as his successor in Güneyköy and is visited.
