Differing Scholarly Views

It is widely held in Uzbekistan that Abu'l-Mu'in al-Nasafi's grave lies at Kovchin village near Karshi, where a complex has been built. Sources: DİA, following Najm al-Din al-Nasafi, says he 'died most probably in Bukhara' and gives no burial place; Yunusova and Djuraeva (2024) present the Kovchin structure as the 'shrine and complex of Abu Mu'in Nasafi' (giving his dates as 1027-1114). The atlas records Kovchin as a shrine attributed to him in the sources' own words and passes no judgement.
