A major Chishti shaykh who transplanted the Chishtiyya order to the Deccan (d. 741/1340). A khalifa of Nizamuddin Awliya, he oversaw the hospice services at the Delhi khanqah; when Sultan Muhammad bin Tughluq moved the capital to Daulatabad he migrated south, settling in the Rauza (Khuldabad) region and rooting the Chishtiyya in the Deccan (TDV Encyclopedia of Islam, "Çiştiyye"). He named Zayn al-Din Shirazi as his successor; his tomb at Khuldabad is an important pilgrimage site. Note: while 741/1340 is the best-attested death year, some sources such as Wikidata give a different date (1344) (transparency note). No pin is provided because the exact tomb coordinate rests on a single source.
