An 18th-century Sufi and lodge poet, born in Çorlu, a disciple and khalifa of İsmail Hakkı Bursevî, a major figure of the Celveti order. In his youth he travelled with Bursevî to Damascus, studied under him, and copied his master's Rûhu'l-Beyân commentary. At the request of the people of Çorlu he was appointed khalifa in his hometown; he died in 1182/1768. NOTE: his burial place is disputed — the Türk Edebiyatı İsimler Sözlüğü places his grave in the Aziz Mahmud Hüdâyî precinct in Üsküdar, while the Bormalı Mosque tomb in Çorlu is also attributed to him.
