Sheikh Ahmad Mutamakkin (c. 1645-1740) is regarded as one of the early saints (wali) of Java and the founder of the spiritual life of Kajen, Pati, where he established a pesantren that became a centre of learning. A mosque of about 250 years' age and the well he used are still preserved. His grave in Kajen draws many pilgrims, especially at his death commemoration (haul) on 10 Muharram.
