Ahmad bin Zayn al-Habshi (1069/1658 – 1144/1732) was a Bâ Alawi sada scholar and Sufi born in the town of al-Ghurfa in Hadramaut. For forty years he served the Qutb al-Irshad Abdullah ibn Alawi al-Haddad, studying over seventy works, and after his master's death he assumed spiritual leadership in Hadramaut. His most famous work is al-Nafahat al-Sirriyya, his commentary on al-Haddad's Ayniyya ode; he also wrote al-Risala al-Jamia and the twenty-volume al-Safina al-Jamia. He died and was buried in the settlement he founded, Hawtat Ahmad bin Zayn.
