A sharif Sufi titled 'Sultan al-ʿArifin' who migrated from Zaylaʿ (Zeila) in the Horn of Africa to the Yemeni Tihama; his nisba refers to his homeland of Zaylaʿ. He left a strong tradition of Sufism and visitation in the Tihama.
