Bahaeddin Muhammed Sultan Walad (25 April 1226 – 11 November 1312) was the eldest son of Mevlânâ Celâleddîn-i Rûmî and the figure who effectively organised the Mevlevi order. Succeeding to his father's place in 691 (1292), he instituted the 'devr-i veledî' ritual, shaped the order's etiquette and rites, and spread the Mevleviyye through deputies he sent across Anatolia. His principal works are the İbtidânâme (Velednâme), Rebabnâme, Dîvân and Maârif. He died on 10 Rajab 712 (11 November 1312) in Konya and was buried under the Green Dome to the right of his father Rumi.
