Founder and first postnişin of the Gelibolu Mevlevî lodge; son of the janissary officer Kara Hasan Ağa. In his youth he renounced his wealth, joined I. Bostan Çelebi at the Konya lodge, and after his retreat returned to Gelibolu to teach the Mesnevî and establish the Mevlevî dergâh.
