Son of Orhan Gazi, remembered as the 'Conqueror of Rumelia' who secured the Ottoman crossing into the Balkans. He died in 758/1357 after falling from his horse while hunting between Bolayır and Seydikavağı, and per his will was buried in the tomb he had built beside his imaret at Bolayır. Restored in 956/1549, the tomb remains a major pilgrimage site visited with Qur'an recitations and prayers.
