A renowned Yemeni Sufi poet who won broad popular devotion especially around Taiz; his mystical verse is still recited in Yemen today. He died in 932/1525 and is buried in the mosque-shrine named after him in Old Taiz; the shrine's dome was destroyed by militants in 2016.
