A Kabyle (Berber) Ash'ari scholar and founder of the Rahmaniyya order, counted among the seven patron saints of Algiers. He founded his zawiya in the Casbah/El Hamma in 1792 and died in 1793-94; by legend his body was placed in two graves, hence 'Bou Qobrine' (the one with two tombs).
