A native of Erzincan (Karakaya/Kelerich village), among the first Halveti shaykhs who pioneered the spread of the Halvetiyye in Anatolia. A disciple of Yahya-yi Shirvani, he trained deputies such as Jamal al-Halveti. His death date is disputed; TDV Ä°A gives 879/1474 (some sources report 869/1465). His burial place is also disputed in the sources.
