A Halveti Sufi poet whose real name was İsmâil and who used the pen name 'Ümmî' (unlettered) because he had no formal education (d. 1475). His works include a Divan, 'Kırk Armağan', 'Risâle-i Vefât' and 'Risâle-i Îmân'. A tomb attributed to him stands in the Yenice quarter of Niğde, though sources disagree on his place of death and burial (traditions also point to Bolu and Karaman).
