The Khalil al-Rahman complex and the Mawlid al-Khalil (Dergâh) Cave around Balıklıgöl in Şanlıurfa are visited in popular tradition as the birthplace of Prophet Abraham and where he was saved from Nimrod's fire. This is a maqam (not a confirmed grave, a visitation tradition) — sources describe it as a birth/legend site, not a tomb. The Khalil al-Rahman Mosque was built in 1211-12.
