An Ottoman scholar and Qur'an commentator whose real name was Mehmed Salih (Kayseri 1799 – Kayseri 2 October 1885). After receiving his license (icâzet) from Göncüzâde Kâsım Efendi, he taught for about thirty years at the Câmi-i Kebîr (Grand Mosque) of Kayseri, training hundreds of students; he presented his work İşârâtü'l-Kur'ân to Sultan Abdülmecid.
