A Sufi, scholar and polymath born in Hasankale (Erzurum), best known for the MaÊ¿rifetnÄme combining astronomy, mathematics and Sufism. A disciple of IsmÄʿīl FaqÄ«rullÄh, he spent his final years in Tillo. He died on 19 JumÄdÄ al-Äkhira 1194 (22 June 1780) and was buried in his masterâs tomb.
