Abd al-Majid Sivasi was born in Zile in 971/1563 and became the pir of the Sivasiyye branch of the Semsiyye line of the Halveti order. Coming to Istanbul, he became influential in the scholarly and guidance circles of his time and was known for his sermons and writings.
