According to the DİA entry KEŞ, Timur came to Kesh (Shahrisabz) in 1404 and visited the grave of Shaykh Shams al-Din Kular [Kulal], whom he greatly revered; the Dar al-Tilawa mausoleum built by Timur is among the city's important historic buildings.
