The tomb in the Tuna quarter of central Bartın is a commemorative MAKAM dedicated to Ebu'd-Derdâ, a Companion of the Prophet. By tradition he stayed in the Bartın region during the siege of Constantinople around AH 50. His actual grave is in the Bab al-Saghir cemetery in Damascus; the Bartın structure is a memorial makam. A small mosque and fountain stand beside it. (Sources: Bartın Governorate; Akdem Kadem.)
