Born to a Christian family in Cyprus, he converted to Islam after the conquest of the island; after studying in Damascus and Istanbul he settled in Akhisar. He devoted his life to teaching and writing; his most famous work is 'Mecâlisü'l-ebrâr,' covering one hundred religious topics. He died in Akhisar in 1041/1632 and was buried in the Uzuntaş Cemetery.
