Afaq Khoja (b. Hidayatullah, 1626-1694) was a Naqshbandi shaykh and political leader who shaped the history of East Turkestan (Kashgaria). Head of the Afaqiyya (White Mountain) branch descending from Makhdum-i Azam of Samarkand, his preaching in Gansu drew Hui and Salar communities into the Naqshbandi order. His mausoleum near Kashgar (Afaq Khoja Mazar) is Xinjiang's most visited shrine. (Sources: TDV; Wikidata Q1044767.)
