Hasan Kaimi Baba (d. 1103/1691-92) was among the most celebrated Bosnian Qadiri shaykhs and Sufi poets of the 17th century. Accused of involvement in the 1682 Sarajevo uprising, he was exiled to Zvornik, where he died and was buried in a türbe built for him at Kula Grad, west of the old town. His türbe was completely destroyed during the 1992-95 war and rebuilt in 2002; the annual 'Days of Hasan Kaimija' is held each June. The upkeep of the türbe and tekke was endowed from the income of raft crossings on the Drina river.
