Zakariyya, father of Prophet Yahya, is a prophet named in the Qur'an. By tradition his skull was discovered in Baalbek (c. 435/1043), brought via Homs to Aleppo, first kept in the Maqam Ibrahim of the Citadel, then moved to the Great Umayyad Mosque of Aleppo by Sultan Baybars after the 1260 Mongol sack.
