A Sufi saint of the Ba'Alawi sayyid line of Hadhramaut, raised in Penang/Kedah and settled in Singapore around 1819 for some 47 years. Renowned for piety, generosity and reported karamat, he is described by scholar Torsten Tschacher as Singapore's most popular saint.
