Originally Ahmed Fehmi, born 1860 in Gürpınar (Mapsino) village of Of. In Istanbul he became a disciple of Ahmed Ziyâeddin Gümüşhânevî, then studied hadith at al-Azhar, becoming a noted Naqshbandi scholar. Said to be of Maraş origin, Tezveren Dede is reported to have served as a gunner in the Ottoman army during the 1461 conquest of Trabzon and to have been martyred and buried at the foot of the city walls. His grave lies in the Çömlekçi neighbourhood of Ortahisar. Documentation is scarce and largely rests on local tradition and Bıjışkyan's account; flagged as a legendary figure. Born Mustafa Tarhan in 1864 in Dağönü village of Of, Haçkalı Baba was also known as Kuş Mustafa and Haçkalı Hoca. He pursued religious and Sufi learning and is counted among the region's late saints. Born on 17 November 1909 in the village of Akdoğan (Yukarı Hopşera) in the Çaykara district of Trabzon. His father, Mehmed Zeki Efendi, was martyred on the Sarıkamış front in World War I. A Republican-era müderris and preacher affiliated with the Naqshbandi-Khalidi order, he taught for many years at the madrasa in his village. He died in his native village in 1982.

Born in the village of Yeşilalan (Holaysa) in the Çaykara district of Trabzon (around 1866). A late-Ottoman scholar and Naqshbandi-Khalidi (Gümüşhanevi branch) sheikh, he trained many students at the madrasa in his village and, declining the mastership of the Gümüşhanevi lodge offered to him after İsmail Necati Efendi with the words "fame is a calamity," spent his life teaching and giving spiritual guidance in his homeland. He died on 3 September 1929.

Known by the village of Çalek (Sıraağaç) in the Of region of Trabzon where his family had settled. A leading Republican-era müderris (madrasa teacher) and Naqshbandi sheikh, he taught the religious sciences for many years in the Black Sea region, especially around Of and Çaykara, training numerous students including several well-known scholars. He died in his village on 22 February 1977.

A figure regarded by the local community as a saint, said by tradition to have come to the Trabzon region in the era of Orhan Gazi to spread Islam and organize the akhi (ahilik) guilds. He is held to be buried in the mosque and shrine that bear his name in Boztepe; the present mosque and tomb were built in 1887 (AH 1305) by the governor of Trabzon, Kadri (Kadir) Pasha, with funds sent by Sultan Abdülhamid II, and a dome was added during the 1976 restoration. The shrine contains four graves, one of which is said to belong to Ahi Evren.
