The DİA entry TAŞKENT lists the 'mausoleum of Zaynuddin Baba' among the city's monuments; the ÖAW blog records that the mausoleum stands in the old city of Tashkent (Kukcha district), with a large grave marker of Shaykh Zayniddin at its centre and a chilla-khana beside it.
Differing Scholarly Views
Shaykh Zayniddin is said to have been a son of Shihab al-Din Suhrawardi who came from Baghdad to Tashkent. Sources: the ÖAW blog (Sultonov) notes that 16th-century hagiographies and genealogies affirm this, yet Suhrawardi's contemporary biographer al-Dhahabi mentions only one son (Imam al-Din Muhammad); it also treats the claim that Timur built the present mausoleum as less plausible than construction under the Shibanid rulers Baraq Khan and Darwish Khan. There is no separate DİA entry. The atlas records these attributions in the sources' own words and passes no judgement.
