Born in 1896 in Melekan village of the Solhan district of Bingöl, son of Shaykh Mahmud of the Malakani family of shaykhs. In 1931 Shaykh Abdülmecid (Shaykh Keke), returning from pilgrimage, granted him authorization, making him head of the Naqshbandi-Khalidi lodge of Melekan. He led the spread of the Naqshbandi-Khalidi order across the Muş, Bulanık, Malazgirt, Ağrı and Erzurum regions; his tomb is in Melekan (Mutluca) village. (Sources: M.
