According to local tradition, they were two brother sheikhs revered as saints who lived in the village of Dedeşen in the Göle district. Legend holds that during Sultan Selim I's 1514 Çaldıran campaign they generously fed the passing army, whereupon the Sultan gifted them the settlement and named the village 'Dedeşen.' Their graves lie in two stone sarcophagi inside the tomb at the village entrance; the structure is dated on architectural grounds to the late 16th century, but no exact death date or documented scholarly identity is known (there is no recorded biography; the account rests on oral tradition).
