A Sufi affiliated with the lineage of the Nagore saint Shahul Hamid Meeran Sahib of South India. The Meera Makam Mosque in Kandy was named for his master, Meeran Sahib, and Sahabdeen Waliyullah himself is buried within this mosque. The land was gifted by the Kandyan king Kirti Sri Rajasinha to a Muslim courtier, and the present structure was built between 1855 and 1864. It is an important spiritual centre for the Muslims of Kandy.
